Tonical Analysis

Post by johan »

hello lover of Lydian chromatic concepts,

Has anyone read Ben schwendener's book, which is a simplification of LCCOTO .
In his book, he talks about a Tonical Analysis process with grades. Can anyone explain this to me?

"that sais, Russell did develop a method for determining which of the twelve LC keys has the most ingoing relationship to any combination of intervals, or SMG for that matter. This processes termed TONICALANALYSIS and is based roughly on the self-organized grading of all 144 intervals .The LC Order of Tonal Gravity and the principle of interval tonic together provide the algortithm for determining the exact numerical grading of tone sets. The seven-tone order grades 1-6, the nine-tone order 7-11 (due to the fact that two +5 and two b3 intervals are added, the upper tone of each of these being the interval tonic with is adjusted within the LC order) the ten-tone order grades 12-13, the eleven- tone order 14-15, and the twelve tone order 16-17 . The Lydian Tonic receiving the lowest numerical grade- that is , having the most collective and often consecutive ingoing/ semi ingoing intervals- exists as the most "ingoing" tonal organization of the entire collection of tones. Of course, whether or not one conceptually chooses to assign that most ingoing LC key as the prevailing key is one's choice, as all LC scales(and all intervals) exist in all Keys. In other words, conceptual, is an existential validation " p.86
