While attending a Harry Potter party Friday night I picked up an interesting new book called Lennie Tristano: His Life in Music by Eunmi Shim, published by University of Michigan Press. About a third of the book consists of an exploration of his teaching methods with recollections by many former students.
I’m not sure what interaction, if any, he had with George Russell. I know that Sheila Jordan studied with Lennie and performed/recorded with Mr. Russell.

Sounds like a great book - a must have...

We were watching Harry Potter people lining up at Barnes and Noble and Target today - reminds me of China - and buying Mao's poetry like chewing gum at the checkout.
